Announcing AwesomWasm Hackathon 2024
What is the AwesomWasm Hackathon?
It is a hackathon focusing on CosmWasm development, previously known as HackWasm Berlin. This event marks the third iteration and the second time it’s being organized by Confio, the creators and key maintainers of CosmWasm, the most adopted smart contract platform in the Cosmos ecosystem.
What is new this year?
- New branding: we renamed our hackathon AwesomWasm to enhance consistency across our social media accounts and mitigate any potential confusion. So, the only legit Cosmos-focused conference and hackathon is called AwesomWasm, and we will stick to this name.
- Web3-focused venue: as the name suggests, W3Hub serves as a crypto-friendly venue, uniquely equipped with expertise in hosting web3 hackathons.
- Cosmos Berlin Week: Atom Berlin organizers reached out and suggested hosting each other’s events closely, announcing the first-ever Cosmos Berlin Week. We believe this will foster a synergy, amplifying the impact of both events.
- CosmWasm membership chains: starting this year, priority is given to CosmWasm Subscribers, who can set their own challenges and tracks by streamlining prize payments directly through them. Kujira and Neutron are already confirmed to have their tracks and challenges!

- IRL hackathon: You can participate remotely if (at least) one team member is on-site. You can team up on our platform.
The AwesomWasm Hackathon is strategically timed to coincide with the momentum of EthBerlin, fostering a dynamic atmosphere for collaboration and idea exchange. Berlin’s status as a hub for Cosmos-relevant projects and individuals further solidifies its position as the ideal location for it.
