Another Reminder

A lot of you have answered those online tests and are now feeling down because of poor scores.

And ironically even though I’ve tried hammering in ya’ll multiple times to ONLY LOOK at PERCENTILES and nothing else, none of you seem to be doing that.

Scores, and ranks mean sh!t. You can have a high score and yet have a poor rank if the whole test was easy, and vice versa. They’re misleading at best.

If your test doesn’t give you a percentile, disregard it. Just use the CBT as a base for revision like I’ve mentioned previously.

Now back to why I wanted to write this article.

I want to repeat it again, so it gets hammered in your brains- REVISE!

Right now, study and make sure you revise your notes ATLEAST 2–3 times BEFORE the exam, and so also your MCQs.

A decent strategy for the late bloomers is to complete 1–2 revision of notes and the 3rd one in the last 15 days before the exam.

Again with MCQs, focus on revising past year questions ATLEAST TWO times, and with a 3rd revision in the last 15 days before the exam.

In the last 15 days, the 3rd thing that you’ll do is revise the CBTs that you’ve attended and answered.

Here’s why I suggest this:

  1. You’ll remember hardly 30–40% of what you do from now till the day of the exam. That’s expected. You’ll forget.
  2. You’ll remember ~70% or so of what you do in the last 15 days before the exam
  3. You’ll rememeber 80–90% of what you do 1–2 days before the exam.
  4. You’ll remember ~90% of what you do 1–2 hrs before entering the exam.

So the best strategy is to prepare yourself for what you’ll be able to re-revise very quickly in the last 7–14 days of the exam.
Use sticky labels to mark important points as I’ve mentioned in a previous article, and make sure you’re preparing a set of last minute revision notes too.

That’s all I wanted to remind ya’ll about.

Best of Luck… and go all out for Glory!
