SWT.

Subject Wise Tests.

One Word: Dread.

It’s much pain when you answer a SWT and get a poor rank than you expected.

But SWTs are the sole reason you will succeed if you make it a habit to answer them regularly- Especially IMMEDIATELY after your Notes and MCQ Revision.

Part A:

Why?

  • SWTs reinforce your learning and make you realize what you’ve missed and what you should have focused on more during your Notes Reading and MCQ Solving. The next revision, you’ll be better focused.

Sometimes we take a lot of sentences from our Study Material (Notes) for granted, and SWTs are there to drop your rank lower when this happens.
  • They keep you disciplined and focused, so you pay attention next time. Nothing hits the brain to pay attention than a previous bad experience- and Tests do exactly that.
  • SWTs keep reality in check by giving you instant feedback as to where you stand with regards to your studies. You know EXACTLY how much study material you’ve absorbed and how much you’ve forgotten.

SWTs ARE your SOLE SOURCE of TRUE MOTIVATION as they allow you to track and watch your rank improve over time. This is the best feedback you can get for your efforts put in.
Losing this opportunity because of fear of answering an SWT is a pity.

  • Through regular Tests, you’ll also learn time management for the exam.

Part B:

But any Test brings with itself that innate fear of losing motivation in case of a Lower Rank.

To tackle this:

Remember that you’ve set your mindset towards continuing improvement.
Keep at it, and keep attempting SWTs- I can assure you 100% that you’ll see your rank improve over time.

And this motivation will be worth the fear and anxiety you had whilst attempting them.

Your job is to learn. Keep Learning and learn to deal with this anxiety during the test- You Need to control it the same way on the day of the Actual Exam.

Part C:

When to start SWTs?

Start from the initial days of your preparation- Along with your Subject-Wise Notes and MCQs.

Do NOT delay answering tests- you hardly have 12 Months to fine tune all the skills required to attempt an MCQ based exam from scratch. Every Test counts towards learning from your mistakes.
