As early as February at this year, the COT team has started the research on the application scheme of power ubiquitous Internet of things. Through the integration of blockchain technology, it can support the power industry suppliers and enable the real economy. On June 10th, the power ubiquitous Internet of things infrastructure scheme of the COT team was adopted by the power industry suppliers. At the same time, the research and development of demo has passed the basic test and certification.

Subsequently, on August 22, the State Grid blockchain Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd. affiliated to State Grid e-commerce Co., Ltd. was founded. The state grid blockchain technology company has released five blockchain financial core products, including electronic contract, power settlement, supply chain finance, electricity fee finance and big data credit investigation, and the application of “artificial intelligence + fintech” products, such as intelligent risk control and intelligent investment and consulting.

According to State Grid Corporation of China, “the technical form of blockchain is highly consistent with the ubiquitous power Internet of things construction of State Grid Corporation of China, which can promote mutual trust between upstream and downstream industries, realize efficient data sharing, improve risk prevention ability, and effectively solve the problems of data accommodation, network security, multi-agent Coordination and so on in the ubiquitous power Internet of things construction process.”

The ubiquitous power Internet of things is defined as an intelligent service system with comprehensive state perception, high-speed information processing, convenient and flexible application, which fully integrates the Internet, artificial intelligence and other advanced information and communication technologies around all aspects of the power system to realize the interconnection of everything and human-computer interaction in all aspects of the power system. Its architecture is mainly divided into: the sensor and data terminal to realize the sensing layer of data collection of the designated object; the network layer to connect the user end, service end, management platform, etc.; the information platform layer to process, store, display the data, and other comprehensive processing and management; and the application layer to expand around the power production management and power consumption.

The sensing layer is the infrastructure of ubiquitous power Internet of things. At present, the scheme provided by the COT team has supported the three-dimensional monitoring and product comprehensive scheme system of UHV power transmission. The application scenarios include: power tower, ground transposition box, branch box, underground cable trench work well, power tunnel, transformer substation, etc. The functions cover data collection, technical prevention, fault location, local discharge monitoring, fire protection and other fields. At the same time, we provide a variety of on-site power supply schemes for IoT equipment, such as photovoltaic, fluid energy, mutual inductance power, etc., which meet the long-term operation and large-scale deployment of outdoor terminals.

For the ubiquitous power Internet of things, if the terminal equipment in the sensing layer has the edge computing ability, it means that many control and processing processes will be realized locally without being handed over to the platform layer, which will undoubtedly greatly improve the processing efficiency, reduce the load of the network layer and the platform layer, and obtain faster response speed. This is also one of the research and development directions in the next stage of COT. It will be the one of COT’s next research directions.

In late October, we completed the deployment of the in-station server of the ubiquitous power Internet of things in Shanghai test line, which can realize data intercommunication in the user end, service end, cloud platform and power intranet platform of COT. By further improving the data security and data credibility, it provides a favorable technical breakthrough point for the exploration of the “object” identity cooperation system of COT and the application of big data.

“Object” identity collaboration system is a digital identity system integrating blockchain technology, which has the characteristics of strong trust, tamper proof, traceability and low cost. It can provide technical support for data, departments, suppliers and users in all aspects of power “production” and “consumption”, providing cross protocol, cross platform and cross department trusted data interaction. At the same time, combined with the visual and non-visual image recognition schemes of COT and advanced technologies such as edge intelligence, big data, AI, etc., it can fully explore and tap more power service resources, and promote mutual trust between upstream and downstream industries.

On October 24, the Chinese country has made an important strategic decision of “taking blockchain as an important breakthrough in independent innovation of core technologies”, which once again strengthened our confidence and determination to do a good job in the integration and innovation of Internet of things combined with blockchain technologies. COT team will be oriented to the actual needs of the industry, adhere to the practical promotion of technology research and development and ecology, enabling real economy.
