Kang Liang is COT’s Intelligent Identification Technology Expert and a Doctor of pattern recognition and intelligent systems from Nanjing University of Science and Technology. Kang has a number of research results and a number of invention patents in related areas such as intelligent planning, optimization algorithms, system modelling and control algorithms.

Kang has previously worked in the drone research department at a research institute in Nanjing and has been responsible for projects such as — research on variable wing aerodynamics (the design of airborne aerodynamic shapes), research on launcher design and technology, the procurement of smart pilot systems such as remote-controlled helicopters, fixed-wing aircraft, off-road vehicles, flying systems and electric boats. Kang has also worked on whole assembly simulation, practice and improvement, application research into wall-climbing robots and the research and development of path planning for off-road robots.

He once served as deputy director at the Administrative Committee of Hongqiao Industrial Park and as deputy director of the Economic and Financial Committee in a city in Jiangsu. He was responsible for the robotic innovation project, systems modelling control research based on an autonomous mobile robot and an intelligent mobile search planning algorithm for autonomous mobile robots.

At present, he is an expert in smart identification technology for COT and is mainly responsible for research on algorithms for intelligent identification, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.
