COTI recently headed to the Golden State to attend San Francisco Blockchain Week (SFBW), which took place between 5–12 October.
This was the blockchain event of the year, which brought together top names in the industry, including the creators behind Ethereum, Litecoin, and many others. Some of the main events included ETH San Francisco, the Crypto Economics Security Conference (CESC), the IBM Hackathon and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) Hackathon.
COTI’s CEO Shahaf Bar-Geffen was in attendance to discuss the themes of scalability and next-generation protocols. Others on the panel included Constellation and Hedera Hashgraph.
In their current form, blockchain technologies cannot support the massive scale, speed, and stability needed for a global payments network. At COTI, scalability is everything with a DAG-based ledger that can process tens of thousands of transactions per second (TPS). While greater scale in blockchain-based networks leads to adverse effects on network usability, in DAG-based networks greater network usage leads to improved network scalability. This scale is achieved without mining and blocks, which creates an extremely efficient system to operate.
