July has been a busy month for the COTI team, marking significant strides in the development of the ecosystem. In the past few weeks alone, we’ve announced COTIs inclusion in a groundbreaking CBDC project, forged new partnerships and enhanced our developer toolkit for builders working with COTI V2. There’s a lot to celebrate, so let’s take a look at all the major news, updates and tech upgrades from the past month.

COTI Joins Central Bank of Israel’s CBDC Project

COTI has been chosen to participate in the Bank of Israel’s Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) project. This initiative aims to explore the potential use cases of a new CBDC and its integration into the national economy. COTI is the only blockchain network selected to take part alongside companies like PayPal and Fireblocks. This project not only enhances our credibility in the digital asset space, but it also creates new avenues for growth and innovation within the traditional financial sector.

Welcome to our New Partners!

This month COTI partnered with Lava Network to boost its RPC Capabilities. Lava Network is a leader in blockchain interoperability and scalability solutions. As part of their suite of products, Lava Networks offers a Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service that can dynamically route requests based on demand. Integrating Lava Network’s RPC services into the COTI ecosystem will help to make the development experience faster, easier and more cost-effective for developers.Read the full announcement here.

We are also excited to be partnered with Xctuality to enhance privacy across their innovative ‘Phygital’ (physical+digital) ecosystem. Xctuality is already making strides in the privacy space with the novel Persona NFT which, through our partnership, will allow its users to store personal identity and user preferences on-chain, in an encrypted manner. Building on COTI, Xctuality will be able to offer programmable security to help its users avoid the risks of centralized data silos, allowing safe sharing across platforms without unauthorized access.

In another exciting development, COTI has partnered with Porta to power confidential transactions on private smart wallets. This partnership addresses a critical need in the DeFi ecosystem for privacy and security. COTI V2 will be used by Porta to set new standards for wallet security in the web3 space, providing users with a secure and private transactional environment, which in turn, boosts confidence and adoption in decentralized applications.

COTI Connect Spaces

Last week, we hosted the second of our monthly COTI Connect Spaces. In the latest discussion almost 2,000 people tuned in to hear guest speakers, including our own CEO Shahaf Bar-Geffen, Dr Avishay Yanai from Soda Labs, Warren Woon and Adrian Oliveiro of Xctuality, and many more. We discussed the news of our CBDC project with the Central Bank of Israel, recapped EthCC and invited our partners at Xctuality to expand on their plans for Persona NFTs.

Advancements in Developer Tools: New SDK and Python Integration

As shared in a recent tech update, we’ve introduced significant upgrades to our developer toolkit including a new SDK upgrade and Python integration.

More specifically;

  1. The COTI V2 TypeScript SDK has a new stable version 0.5.5
  2. String support has been included Python SDK 0.1.10

The enhanced SDK provides standardization of patterns across all development platforms. This alignment reduces the learning curve for those new to COTI and makes it far easier for developers to interchange between languages like Typescript and Python. We anticipate that they will also significantly reduce development time, simplifying the implementation of privacy features on COTI V2.

Whether you’re a Python developer wanting to tap into a rich ecosystem of tools, or a TypeScript developer seeking advanced encryption capabilities, COTI V2 speaks your language. Get started: https://docs.coti.io/coti-v2-documentation

COTI in the Spotlight

COTI’s CEO, Shahaf Bar-Geffen was interviewed by DLNews as well as CryptoPotato, where he shared his insights into the Web3 privacy landscape and the innovative advantages of garbled circuits.

What’s Next?

There’s a lot of exciting things on the horizon. In the next few weeks we will introduce the COTI Playground; a graphical front-end interface for developers to create and deploy smart contracts that have programmable security. This will be followed by the COTI V2 Testnet launch, planned for Q3.

Additionally, Shahaf and the team will be making their way to Singapore in September to participate in the premiere Web3 conference event, Token2049. If you’re in the area or attending the event, make sure you come and say hi.

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to innovate and drive forward the development of COTI’s ecosystem. We appreciate your continued support and feedback.

Stay COTI!
