NFA Partners With COTI For Secure, Private Trading
Following our earlier partnership announcement, we’re pleased to give more details about our collaboration with NFA — an AI-powered social crypto trading app based on Telegram.
NFA will explore how to build confidentiality into its in-app trading opportunities environment using COTI’s technology. Leveraging Garbled Circuits on the COTI L2, NFA can explore how to prevent front-running and MEV exploits for its large and growing community of users.
NFA: Gamified, AI-Powered Crypto Trading Education
NFA is a fun and free-to-use app that sits at the intersection of crypto trading, machine learning, crowd-sourced community insights, and gaming. It’s based on a Telegram mini-app, which — thanks to its accessible approach, and the actionable insight it delivers — has attracted over 85,000 monthly users.
The app presents users with AI-curated crypto investment opportunities, and a UX that will resonate with those familiar with dating apps: swipe right to take an opportunity (buy), or left to pass on it. Users earn points by exploring and engaging with the app, making investments, and inviting friends. Over time, they’ll level up from Rookie Calf status to Future Bull, Alpha Bull, Legendary Bull and finally GCR — (named after legendary crypto trader), a status reserved for only the most engaged and smart investors!
NFA is a fun and friendly way to learn about new opportunities in the crypto space and gauge levels of interest from others in the community.
COTI: Helping Protect Crypto Traders
NFA allocates in-game tokens (GT) to its users, which they can use to take different in-app opportunities, learning how to invest through practice trading. In the future the app will enable its community to apply these gamified insights to real-money trades. When they do so, it is vital that information about their trades remains confidential until those transactions have been safely executed and confirmed on the blockchain. That’s where COTI’s privacy solution comes in.
Without privacy, it is possible to view blockchain transactions while they are still in the mempool and front-run them, reducing the profitability for those who have researched and timed their moves carefully. COTI’s privacy layer, based on garbled circuits (GCs) provides traders protection against this practice, enabling traders to execute their trades quickly and efficiently while ensuring they remain confidential.
Developed in partnership with Soda Labs, GCs offer a powerful and low cost approach to decentralized confidential computing, providing Privacy-on-Demand without the computational and cost overheads associated with other leading solutions in the Web3 privacy space.
One of the key applications for this technology will be copy trading, where NFA users can “ape” on a successful user’s trades within the NFA app. Using COTI privacy, those trades can be shielded from external observers to avoid the problem of MEV exploits, ensuring the original trader is compensated for their ideas.
Privacy, AI, And Web3
This COTI-NFA partnership is particularly interesting because it highlights some of the ways in which different narratives are coming together in the Web3 space. AI is an amazing tool for gathering actionable information for the benefit of traders as demonstrated by NFA’s utilization of AI engines. AI is used to gather and assimilate information from a wide range of social media, online, and on-chain sources to provide the best trading signals. Meanwhile, COTI’s on-chain privacy features enables the trader to put their strategies to work in confidence. COTI preserves the core benefits of Web3, including trustlessness and decentralization, while offering a high degree of privacy by default.
