During the last week, the COTI development team built upon the progress made in the last weeks and has been working full-force to implement the COTI alpha net.

  • We continued working on the Trust Score Update Algorithms (TSUAs) and finalized all ITSA implementation. We also applied linear regression carried out for feature weights and machine learning modules. Moreover, we defined the TSUAs algorithms and implemented tracking of trustworthy and bad-acting participants in the network.
  • We finalized our ITSA Server and added the implementation as part of our onboarding process.
  • We released the final version of COTI’s Mediation Layer specifications. The mediation process and nodes are in our expedited development phase.
  • Our research and development team defined the COTI Proof of Work (PoW) algorithm. This algorithm consists of multiple hashing algorithms operating in a chain with ordering dependent on the last 16 bytes of the hash of the previous block.
  • After defining the COTI PoW, we began implementing COTI’s PoW algorithm. We also started working on our DAG attachment algorithm, which combines the Trust Score and other variants to define the PoW required for validating a transaction. The idea is that transactions with a low Trust Score will require more PoW. A higher Trust Score will require less PoW because lower Trust Score participants are more prone to spam the network with invalid transactions. The complexity of generating the PoW is controlled by the Cluster based on node load.
  • Our research team is exploring node operation monitoring processes so nodes that do not follow rules as defined by the COTI network will be deemed untrustworthy. For example, not choosing a random address from the address book or randomizing interactions with other nodes.
  • Work on the Full Node is currently focused on one fully working node with full transaction, consensus and attachment implementation. In parallel, our development team is working on the initial version of the propagation protocol while defining the most efficient way to sync data between Full Nodes.
