In February 2021 Seagate, one of two of the worlds biggest storage hardware manufacturers, released their own S3 object storage solution — Lyve Cloud. Lyve Cloud delivers on being a frictionless cloud storage as a service that harnesses 40 years of storage innovation. Seagate is perfect if you have archives, backups, or if you’re company handling large amounts of media; to the extent that Zoom uses Seagate over other solutions.

Much like other competitive solutions to Amazon S3, Lyve Cloud provides simple printable pricing, zero add-on charges and no egress fees.

Migrating to Lyve Cloud

With Movebot you can migrate to Lyve Cloud from other cloud platforms (Wasabi, Backblaze, AWS, Azure, any S3 compatible platform), on-premises file servers, NAS and data centers or enterprise collaboration solutions (SharePoint, Box, Dropbox, Google Drive).

As Movebot is a fully cloud hosted solution, the entire process is simple and easier regardless of your source and Movebot scales to meet your demand regardless if it is a few hundred TB or PBs of data.

With Movebot it is a simple 4 step solution.

  1. Create an account
  2. Configure your source platform
  3. Configure your Lyve Cloud bucket
  4. Start the migration

Through Lyve Cloud being a block storage solution, it does not have the same limitations as enterprise collaboration storage solutions which enables Movebot to scale worker nodes (compute) to push data at high speeds without the challenge of rate-limiting. This enables Movebot to be able to push 100s of TBs a day whilst keeping the process simple.

If migrating from an on-premises file server, NAS or a data center Movebot provides a simple Agent that can be installed on a single VM or multiple VMs that can pull data from multiple locations at once and push data to Lyve Cloud without skipping a beat.

For more information on the Movebot see Movebot’s Wiki. Or, head to Movebot.io for more information on the platform and its security.
