SFTP is not going anywhere, due to it’s secure and compliant nature (HIPAA and PCI) it is growing as a system to system secure file transfer protocol. However, there is a strong requirement for an external party to share files, especially in finance, via SFTP but have them received by a human for processing.

This can be done through Couchdrop’s Cloud SFTP native integration with your cloud storage (SharePoint, Dropbox, Google Workspace, Box and Egnyte) where an external party sends a file by SFTP and the file is then received directly into a folder within your cloud storage. As the file goes directly to your cloud storage, it enables the ability for your non-technical team to use the native cloud storage sync agent to sync the file directly to their computer to then take action on.
An added benefit, as you are bringing your own storage, this means that Couchdrop does not store your data at rest, rather you do, which provides full control and the ability to monitor your data without relying on third-party tools or being locked-in with a SFTP vendor.
Additionally, Couchdrop’s Cloud SFTP offers alerting for files received. Once a file is uploaded via SFTP, a notification can be emailed or sent to the likes of Microsoft Teams to notify a team that a file has arrived and that can now access the data.
Finally as part of the solution, there is an Automation and File Workflow aspect, so that if the file is sent encrypted with PGP, Couchdrop can decrypt the file in stream, or if you want to create a backup of the file on upload, Couchdrop can create a copy of the file in another folder or on a completely different cloud platform.
