Making Democracy More Rewarding
Version 4.0 of Countable’s iOS app makes government more responsive to the American people.
You’ve been busy lately. Since the inauguration, you’ve sent more than 2.7 million messages to Congress through Countable. Whoa.
We’ve also heard from many of you about ways to make Countable better.
We just released a new version of the iOS app to make the democratic process even more responsive and rewarding for you, our fellow Americans. We simplified our navigation so you can read engaging content, take action, and make your voice heard. Intrigued? Want to know more? Let’s do it.
1. Quickly and easily call your lawmakers
One of the most popular feature requests we got was the ability to call lawmakers from more locations across the app. Now you can call your lawmakers after voting on a bill and after tapping “Take Action” on a news story.
2. 3D Touch
For those with an iPhone 6s or newer, you can now use 3D touch with Countable! Hard-press on the Countable app icon to access your lawmakers’ contact info to quickly call, message, or video message your rep. You can also peek into news stories, bills, and almost anything else in the app. Try it out!
3. Simpler navigation
The most visible change to the app is a more streamlined information architecture, so you can get updated on breaking news, see and vote on upcoming bills, and access your notifications.
There are now three feeds: one for the most relevant news, one just for bills, and one for notifications. They correspond with three main use cases for the app: get updated on news and take action, see upcoming bills and vote on them, and stay on top of everything happening with notifications.
As our Managing Editor, Andrea Seabrook, says, “our purpose is to advocate for the ability of any citizen to act on the information we provide them.”
We hope you’ll check out the app in the App Store, and maybe even leave a review! We promise your voice will be heard. It’s what we do best.
Cheers to democracy,
The Countable Team
P.S. Android users: don’t worry. We’re committed to making a better Countable for you. Stay tuned.
