A Beam of Light Through Brain Fog

I’m such a great human being. Not only do I possess forest green eyes and curls that could embellish the heads of gods and goddesses, but I’m even disciplined, funny, and selfless. I’m so great that I decided that no matter my left side of the face blowing up like a balloon post wisdom tooth removal, I would still go to yoga tonight. And no, how dare you? It is not only because I had already paid for the week and had only been to the studio once.

Anywho. As I was stretching myself into the last few Yin poses, and just after having wondered how to get rid of my ever-returning brain fog now accentuated by my jaw pain, the yoga instructor, L, as if raptured by infinite skills of mindreading started talking about attention.

Curiously — when considering the setting — attention derived from the Latin equivalent of “to stretch towards”. I suppose they were right when they said that yoga (stretching in this case) is not about touching your toes but what you learn on the way down.

Oh, and there’s so much to learn…not only in yoga, of course.
