Finally, I get to gush about ‘Army of Darkness’. The third film in the ‘Evil Dead’ franchise and the final entry to feature Ash Williams (Bruce Campbell) as the main protagonist, at least until ‘Ash vs Evil Dead’.

This film stands out the most among all entries for its heavier focus on comedy, lack of gore, and overall light tone.

However, I find this entry to be immensely charming and endlessly entertaining. If there was ever a film I’d like to put on after a bad day, it would have to be this one.

After being sucked through a vortex, Ash lands find medieval times and has to find the Necronomicon to get home.

I mean, considering how ‘Evil Dead 2’ ended, it makes sense that they chose the story that they did. There were plans to dive into more of Ash’s past, but that was scrapped. Though we would get Ash’s past revealed in the ‘Evil Dead’ show.

It’s a simple story that allows freedom for creativity and comedy to unfold.
