Alert: Spoilers and opinions that shouldn’t be taken seriously.

‘Graduation Day’ is a unique slasher film that has a decent mystery but also a few short steps.

After a tragic accident ends with the death of a high school track athlete, a masked killer shows up to get revenge.

It feels more like a mystery film in areas, but, as a slasher film, it’s pretty good.

The kills aren’t bad and have imagination. For example, there’s one that involves a blade-filled football and another one that has a landing pad filled with spikes.

The gore is well done. I especially liked how this one effect was done where a sword goes through someone’s throat.

The practical effects were overall well done, aside from some blood that looked like it was painted on with, well, actual paint.

The music isn’t bad either, the vocals at least.

There are a couple of songs here that are fine, they feel like typical 80s rock songs. Catchy, electric guitars, and attitude.

They feel like the songs I could put on in the background and then pay no heed to as I write.
