I originally read I Am Legend about 40 years ago. Give or take a year. And it has forever stayed with me. Few books can genuinely do that, especially a book that is perhaps a short story, and if push comes to shove, a novella. I decided to reread this work by the brilliant sci-fi/horror writer Richard Matheson.
However, on looking for the book on my bookshelves, it was missing. Then I remembered my daughter had taken it months ago to read and had never returned it. So I ordered another copy, and to my surprise, the new copy had a completely different cover. I have to say that I much prefer my original copy.
There is also a book of incredible short stories by Matheson that should be on the bookshelf of all those who like and love sci-fi and horror.
