Mido Made A Patek Philippe Alternative?!
Reminiscing one of the most demanded watches at the moment, could the Mido Multifort TV Big Date become a new king in the affordable sector?
Mido deserves a lot more respect from watch collectors. For some reason, this brand has been ignored for years despite offering substantial advantages in their product lineup. Mido provides the very best of Swiss watchmaking such as funky designs, chronometric precision and amazing mechanical complications; all while charging a laughably small fee in comparison to luxury brands.
So much so that today I am willing to engage in an unfair comparison. Mainly for giggles but also to make a point. Today, I will put head to head the most recent release by Mido called the “Multifort TV Big Date” against one of the most demanded luxury watches ever. Of course, I’m talking about the Patek Philippe Aquanaut.
First, we start with a bit of history. Patek Philippe unveiled the Aquanaut originally in 1997, making it the first completely original collection launched by the brand since the also hyped-up behemoth called Nautilus or “5711”.
