Netflix has recently announced that it wants to dive into the world of mobile games. Now that the streaming giant has seen incredible success with its vast library of movies and original content, the company wants to shift its subscription efforts towards gamers. Movies and shows are ok, but there’s only so many that can keep a person hooked on the platform. Mobile games tend to be more engaging and can keep anyone addicted for hours if it’s entertaining enough. If Netflix can capitalize on this new addition to their streaming service offering, then the company will have a great advantage over the competition.

Being in the early stages of integration, Netflix believes that offering mobile games to subscribers at no additional charge would be the best way to test user activity. Subscribers will have the opportunity to explore games that are directly related to some of the company’s hit movies and TV shows. By association through games, the subscriber may subconsciously want to watch or even re-watch movies/tv series that they otherwise may not have come back to. It may be Netflix’s best subliminal suggestion tool to keep users continuously streaming for hours on end.

According to CNBC, company executives have stated “The success of this initiative is about great games, fundamentally.” Netflix appears to truly want the best outcome for this new venture. With the oversaturation of the…
