Scooby-Doo and the Witch’s Ghost (1999) Review: You’re a Warlock, Ben.

Alert: Spoilers Irrelevant Opinions ahead.
Jesus, I forgot just how hard these movies go. Direct-to-video movies don’t have the best reputation as a lot of the good ones are bogged down by pointless crap.
But damn, when you find a good one, they’re really good, and ‘Scooby-Doo and the Witch’s Ghost’ is no exception. This is another one I would watch at least a handful of times during October as a kid.
Let’s gush about this film.
A famous horror writer asks the Scooby Gang to come along with him to visit his hometown during a Fall festival. However, events take a sinister turn when a witch appears to wreak havoc.
Like the previous film, the story takes the normal formula and bends it by adding a real threat. I like it as it gives the film a slightly more mature tone, at least in the last third.
Nothing gruesome, but there’s more stakes than someone trying to steal some real estate.
