Should We REALLY Study About Space?

It’s complicated… And I can explain.

Introduction

Space is an amazing place to wander around(in my dreams) and it’s no wonder that we have tried our best to fulfill it as humans. The point is… from a logical standpoint, is it needed? Do we really need to explore space? I mean… It’s not that we are gonna find aliens tomorrow because of the great filter. Well… Here is where the thoughts diverge.

We Are Stopping The Future From Exploration

We are slowly but consistently creating a new layer on earth. A layer filled with all sorts of junks, particles, and satellite leftovers moving at insanely high speed. The number of particles is increasing at such a high rate that at the present, an average of 1–2 or 3 satellites are destroyed every year, just from the junk we have, moving at high speed.

And this is done just for a half-century. Considering that the number of satellites and the debris is gonna increase, this could affect the future humans who would continue exploring(due to obvious reasons). Yes, I know that this is very subtle and almost not noticeable now, but I can see this being a problem in the future.

And space junk is just one of the hundred more problems we are creating for ourselves and the future

BUT It’s Also Crucial

I mean… We also love in the age where we cannot live without it. From weather forecasts to the internet itself. Everything depends on satellites. And exploration is the cause we invented it. So it’s not that space exploration is not helpful. Not to mention it also helps in discovering about science itself, like relativity and so on…

Well, another use case for this would produce would be competition between countries(I guess). And I’m not a big fan of this. We could easily have a space organization for the world. But of course, we rather choose to be divided.
Ok… Coming back to the point space does have so uses. It’s just that we are not doing it properly(at least what I think).

So… Is It Important?

Yes… It is important. BUT… There are some flaws that are causing problems. And these problems are the main reasons why some people say it is not important.

Solution

The solution, I think, is a multi-step plan.

Reduce Human Travel

Sending a completely automatic satellite (or a bot) to space does most of the work. Sending humans into space produces more waste and resources, also missing the whole point of research through efficiency and ease.

Space Organization Centralization

Every space organization has a separate satellite doing the same work for each organization. And we can say that each space organization has its own advantages like budget, efficiency, tech, etc. Merging all of them would probably bring the advantages together.

Creating New Tech For Correcting Mistakes

So, we’ll use the same example of space junk here. We probably need to create some tech to clean them up. There are tons of ideas for cleaning space junk on YouTube itself. All it needs is implementation… Which is easier said than done.

Creating New Concept of Travelling in Space

I like the approach taken by Tesla for creating reusable missiles. We probably need to create space ships that are not gonna dump garbage on earth and use up all the money.

Conclusion — Focus more on Tech

Our goal right now is probably not how far we can go away from earth. It’s how easily we can go, research, and get the information. Because clearly, we are not in a stage where we create no problems while traveling. I mean… My point is to keep changing and innovating some new ways to travel in space. And it's about time we need one.

I’m gonna make more videos on this and more on my YouTube channel FadinGeek. That’s about it in this article, I’ll meet you in the next post.

You’re Awesome :)
