I am a sucker for awards shows and enjoyed the recent Golden Globes, pleased that my favorite film of the year, Emilia Perez, scored.

I always enjoy admiring the pretty people in their pretty clothes, although I miss the days of yore when actors actually chose their own attire, and even paid for formal gowns out of their healthy pocketbooks.

It had once been fun viewing, witnessing the over-the-top looks from Kim Basinger, Cher, Bjork, and Geena Davis, rather than just the couture-clad fashions borrowed by stylists from designer labels.

One thing I noticed last night was that some of the actresses we normally associate with blonde hair were suddenly brunette. Or darker haired anyway.

Those quintessential blondes, Sharon Stone and Jodie Foster, the latter of whom won an acting award for Best Actress in a Limited Series, were less blonde than we’ve ever seen them.

Last year, when Emma Stone won her second Golden Globe for Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy, she sported shoulder length red hair. In 2025, her hair transitioned into a very dark auburn, bordering on a brunette, pixie. She had also been a fiery red when she accepted her…
