A Night of Games: Students Have a Blast at Second Annual Game Night

From 3:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., students of all grade levels were welcomed into a wonderland land full of games of every kind: Board games, Video games, Rock-Paper-Scissors, Twister, and many more. People were rushing towards every corner of the event to compete between each other in the games, people who came to play, have fun, but most of all, to win.

There were a variety of games to play that night. Some of these games consisted of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Just Dance 2018, Halo, Super Smash Brothers Brawl, Pie Face, Twister, Rock-Paper-Scissors, Ninja, Charades, Jenga, and Ping Pong Ball Toss. People were rushing to try out all the festivities that were laid out, with the video games being the most popular, where players can either drive track by track rushing to the finish line, or moving their bodies to varieties of songs seeing who is the better dancer .

While there were many games out there, students definitely had their eyes on the prize. Or prizes, so to speak. After playing these games, the students were handed pink slips to give to the Student Council hosts, and they would be rewarded with red tickets, which could be used for the raffle that auctions the top three prizes. These red tickets could also be exchanged, in a bundle of five red tickets, for one pink ticket that raffles an Instax Mini 9 camera bundle, with ample film, a camera case, and an album. The top three prizes all included a Chilltown State backpack with a $10 Spotify gift card. Along with those prizes, there was a random addition of either Yoshi and Mario Plushies, a Bulbasaur plushie, or a Funko Pop figure of Rey from Star Wars.

“This was really a fun night!” said Junior Gerardo Albarran.

In the end, the night turned out to be a blowout to the very end. As a result of the Raffle, Freshmen Andrew Kibalo and Nicole Collaguazo and Sophomore Ana Ramos won the prizes. This was simply a night to remember, and hopefully there will be another night like this soon.
