With all MLB teams welcoming the versatile player that is Shohei Otani, which team will he end up with? The 23 year old Japan native is a two way player, having the positions of an outfielder as well as a pitcher. The talks of being compared to the “Great Babe Ruth” on how he can play both positions well, who’s to not want him on their team? A few teams have been lucky enough to fill out his questionnaire but most teams are out of the running. With the latest teams being the New York Yankees, New York Mets, the Boston Red Sox, and the Miami Marlins to drop out of this Shohei sweepstakes. The teams that are still optimistic and in the running for him are the San Francisco Giants, the Seattle Mariners, San Diego Padres, Texas Rangers, Chicago Cubs, and the Los Angeles Dodgers. It is most likely that Shohei will end up on the West Coast. With other teams still left to say their position on this sweepstakes, soon enough we’ll know where Shohei Otani will go. As for the other 29 teams that won’t receive Mr. Otani, there will be other guys on the market to buy. With the winter meetings coming, and more teams likely to drop out of the race, Shohei Otani’s announcement is right around the corner.
