If you are a boss, how would you like to have a team that remembers everything you taught them, gets things done on time, work together seamlessly, and are continuously self-upgrading. Do these people sound superhuman?

Well, what if I told you that you already have the ingredients of making your team superhuman?

What do you have in your hand right now? An iPhone?

Here’s the connection: People are now capable of becoming superhuman cyborgs with the wide use of smartphones.

Just mentally calculate how many hours a phone is next to you in a day? Is it with you when you are sleeping, to wake you up in the morning? Is it with you even in the toilet? It is definitely with you during the day while you are out and about.

Seems crazy? Even crazier is that nearly everyone has a smartphone, instead of a computer.

Never in history has a device been so crucial to humankind that nearly everyone keeps it with them nearly every hour of their life.

It’s definitely the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Enabling your team

With that in mind, the only logical next step is to use smartphones to enable your people further in work.

Too many things going on at the workplace?

In a typical day, there are so many things going on at the workplace that people lose track of things — many feel frustrated that they have to reply 101 emails, attend countless meetings, sit through boring learning programs.

To start with, let us show you some really useful apps that are really useful in a team and at work. We use these apps as well!

All these apps are meant to be easily used, and nearly anyone can set it up easily.

Let us know if there are any others that are really useful as well!

1. To remember everything and be reminded

Evernote is like our second brain. Store all kinds of information — work and personal in this repository. At work, we have used it to start a few shared business “notebooks” to collaborate and share notes among team members.

Sunrise is the mother of all calendars. It can integrate iCloud, Google, Exchange calendars and even Evernote reminders in one calendar that works on all devices. Check up on your teammates work calendar, send out invites, and even sync up calendars in different time zones.

2. To work together seamlessly and get things done

Basecamp is our working board. We use it to delegate work tasks, set deadlines, and share working files. I rely on it a whole lot to coordinate design and marketing work with our team 400KM away in Singapore!

Slack is the modern work email. We are using it to replace internal emails and integrates various services such as Dropbox and Google Drive so we can discuss issues while linking things into the discussion.

3. Keep track and be engaged in learning

Coursepad (that’s us!) helps you build a learning solution for your team that leverages on the accessibility of mobile phones, engagement of social learning, and efficacy of blended learning. This includes existing templates and content from learning consultants that help you craft your own course in just 5 minutes and which will be automatically pushed to your team.

What other tools does your organization use to enable your people?

We honestly believe that technology can empower people at work! Share with us the tools your organization uses to enable your people at work, and we’ll compile all of them into a nice list that everyone can use for free.

Till next time!
