A Thousand Splendid Suns

Lock
And
as
we
kissed
and
let
our hands
travel
over
the topography
(hashtag wanderlust)
of
years of stretches
and
lines
and
scar(e)s,
I
found
a
key
on a
chain around his waist.
I
asked
what it opened
“I
like
the presence
of
the key.”
He
smiled
with
a
thousand
splendid suns
in
his eyes
and
withering
flowers on his neck.
“I
like
the
absence
of
a lock.”
