A Word Before We Go… On-Chain.

Taking a moment to highlight the best analysts on Covey before the website closes.

Covey will exist on-chain forever. However, as of March 13th, Covey.io will be closed. Covey’s goal was to find the best and invest in them. We took a big bet on creating a platform that would allow anyone to invest alongside the top 1% of analysts on Covey Training Club. Our thesis that “the great stay great”, is abundantly evident in the data: since Jan 1, 2022, the top 1% on Covey beat the S&P by more than 30% running long only. The ledger of all trade data that went into building this strategy will exist here forever. It contains over 100k unique trades for anyone to test. The backtest data for investing in the top 1% can be viewed using ForecastOS for those curious (chart below based on SPY benchmark).

Our performance based on our community was amazing, but unfortunately we met many challenges launching the Registered Investment Advisor part of Covey.

Covey Will Exist On The Blockchain Forever

Analysts will no longer be able to enter trades on Covey.io as of March 13th, 2024, but for those interested in keeping their track records alive, we recommend using our covey-python-sdk to post trades directly on chain and monitor the performance of your strategy. Finding the Best and Co-Trading with Them Generates Alpha

The goal of Covey was to find the best, so I want to highlight the four best analysts on Covey (based on our Alpha Algo) out of the thousands that built portfolios. Their performance is outstanding and they deserve more light shined on them.

SwingTradered (>4x Since 2021)

One of Covey’s first users, SwingTradered uses technical indicators to identify sectors that are about to take off. Rarely are analysts on Covey, especially me, able to make money in more than one industry or macro environment. SwingTradered was able to generate alpha during the war in Ukraine going long fertilizer stocks, then shorting treasuries at 3x leverage during interest rate increase, then going long AI and crypto late last year. Today, they are long small caps, crypto, and robotics.

Greenblue (+8% over SPY with 244 stocks)

Greenblue generates that slow and consistent alpha that is truly incredible. Building a portfolio of 244 stocks that can outperform the S&P 500 over long periods is incredibly difficult. Someone needs to create an ETF managed by Greenblue. He built a quant strategy that scores companies based on their quality and momentum to find stocks that will outperform the S&P 500.

Anton Krasnov (3x’d portfolio from betting against stocks)

One of the younger analysts on our platform, Anton got into Covey from our days of serving investment clubs. He was the best student at the USC investment club, and has only gotten better since graduating. Anton has the rare gift of being able to make money betting against stocks. From my days in the Hedge Fund world very few can do this consistently. Anton was able to 3x his portfolio from being short BABA, AMC, GME, BBBY, DOCU, TME, and YETI all at the perfect time, all the while still generating alpha on the long side from PLTR, SHOP, and LULU. His market timing is incredible and is well suited for a career at Hedge Funds.

Sheillah The Crypto Shillah (75% hit rate on ideas)

Special attention needs to be paid to Sheillah The Crypto Shillah. Being long the best asset in crypto in 2023 (SOL) and the best stock in equities in 2023 (NVDA) is no accident. Also being long quantum computing and defense in 2023 was truly impressive, in her two years on Covey 75% of her bets made money. You can spot her running a vineyard in Napa or Shilling crypto on Twitter.

What’s Next For Covey

Covey has entered into a strategic transaction with Delphia. I will be joining the Delphia team to work on a new product that will be launching soon: Tilt.

I am incredibly excited by Delphia, they are seeking to upend the hedge fund model and I believe they have the talent to do it. One of my favorite backtesting products, ForecastOS, used above to share our performance data for investing in the top 1%, was launched within Delphia.

The new business will be in the wealth tech space because I am forever obsessed with investing.
