The Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative is collaborating with Bloomberg Philanthropies’ Coronavirus Local Response Initiative to support mayors as they manage COVID-19. A sixth virtual discussion session held on April 23, 2020, focused on principles of leadership to effectively guide teams and communities during an unprecedented, multi-stage crisis.

In the sixth session, Nancy Koehn, James E. Robison chair of Business Administration at Harvard Business School, and Jorrit de Jong, Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative and Harvard Kennedy School, explore principles of leadership to effectively guide teams and communities during an unprecedented, multi-stage crisis.

The session also included a public health update from Josh Sharfstein, Vice Dean for Public Health Practice and Community Engagement at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Additionally, Jennifer Nuzzo, Associate Professor at Johns Hopkins, reviewed how mayors can help protect older citizens, one of the most vulnerable populations in this crisis.
