A quick stop at Denny’s and you’ll see loose rules in place to protect anyone who goes in the restaurant from Covid. Just like Olive Garden they have employees wearing masks, hand sanitizer in the front of the buildings, and tables spaced out for proper 6 foot social distancing.

Smith’s, a grocery store, has a rule for both employees and customers to wear masks. Smith’s even has a cart sanitizing employee, much like a restaurant must have a designated busser who only wipes clean surfaces and nothing else. Business owners in the restaurant industry are speaking with local health officials to stay up to date on rules for our health during Covid.

Not all food and beverage place is agreeing on whether or not to wear masks. Face coverings are becoming even more important when social distancing isn’t possible. Because of the pandemic we are seeing different places taking temperatures of customers with 99.8 being too high. These customers will get turned down and won’t be able to enter the building in order to protect everyone’s health. (Business Insider)

Different Rules Apply

In Pennsylvania employers are allowed to either approve or reject masks worn by employees. PA is asking that any violations of health and safety be reported to your local health department. Other places like Los Angeles, California are being inspected by the Health department with over 50% failing to follow local coronavirus rules.

“… In Washington, D.C., cases have begun to sneak up since the city reopened indoor dining In New York City and many other places, indoor dining , which has proved far more dangerous than outdoor eating, remains banned. (nytimes.com)

All across the nation we are responding differently to the Coronavirus outbreak with different rules applying to different states and cities. (Time)

Stop and help prevent the spread of Covid

The struggle is real

Restaurant Owners are struggling to keep afloat, many even deciding to sell their businesses. Stella Taco is a taco shop recognized for its Austin-style tacos and its margaritas which had a permanent closure July 19. (pdx.eater.com)

Rules like checking people in at the front door for face coverings and acceptable temperatures by a designated employee, and someone to sanitize every surface imaginable even if it’s not required will put people at ease and help prevent the spread of Covid. Encourage your customers to do Curbside Pickup instead of dining in since it’s the lowest risk to getting Covid.
