We are Coworkies, a future of work company that visited 206 coworking communities since 2016 to explore their people and spaces. This article is part of our challenge to sum up 23 coworking cities in 2017. Bookmark this one as we are going to constantly update it!

15 days. This is the time we spent exploring a whole new world: India. Our aim was to dig into the coworking culture and understand how it is done in one of the biggest countries in the world with the youngest workforce (29 yo on average). We visited 25 coworking spaces in the 4 main cities of India, New Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bangalore with the objective to meet the people who make coworking what it is today there.

New Delhi
Considered the second biggest coworking hub in India after Bangalore, New Delhi has a lot offer.
A glimpse of Delhi’s coworking
Delhi is a huge city! To go from one place to another can take you hours. But did you know that in India, you can’t open business places in residential areas? Coworking spaces are located in Business areas, making it still difficult and long for people to go to work.

Mumbai, a growing coworking city
Mumbai is growing at a fast pace. During our time in the city, we were amazed by the number of cranes shaping its skyline. The coworking scene is also moving fast with a lot of spaces expanding their brands.

Meet two charming locals!
Ministry of New is a name we heard quite a lot while preparing our coworking expedition in India. Ranked by Forbes as the second most beautiful coworking in the world, it’s absolutely stunning! Aside from the interior design, the space attracts a very diverse and inspiring crowd. We chatted about it with the Founders Marlies and Natascha.

Hyderabad
The little sister of Bangalore
Hyderabad, 12 hours distance by train from Bangalore, is the new tech city of India. We were amazed by the pace of its growth in a really short time!

Bangalore
India’s #1 coworking city
The title says it all :) Bangalore is the Silicon Valley of India and it does not take you much to realise it: just a walk around the city and you will see the logos of Google, Facebook and other big tech giants as part of the landscape. Coworking has, of course, flourished, offering a wide range of options to coworkers.
