Guide: Getting started with AI-native data analysis

Align AI is a new type of product analytics tool that empowers builders to analyze the conversational data they are collecting. Right now, most of the data is being stored in data sources like AWS S3, GCP Bigquery, PostgreSQL, MySQL and more.

Previously, there was no unified way to easily view, search, analyze, and take action with the main data type of AI-native products — conversations and text. Align AI changes all that with a suite of key features that lowers the barrier of entry to analysis while dramatically dropping the time taken from data ingestion to actionable insights.

In short, Align AI empowers you to leverage your data without the heavy-lifting (we do that for you 😉)!

Getting Started

Now onto the good stuff. Everything below here should take you less than 5–10 minutes. If it’s taking you longer, please reach out so that we can help you → Contact support

Step 1: Create account

Create your account by entering your email address/password.

Step 2: Verify email

You should receive a verification email from us. Click “Verify” to proceed. If you didn’t receive an email, please make sure to check your spam folder or shoot us an email.

Step 3: Enter project name

Enter your project name (it could be your product or company name, etc). Once you do, a unique project_id will be automatically generated for you which is accessible in your My Accounts page on Align AI.

Step 4: Ingest your data

Once you’ve entered your project name, it’s time to start ingesting your conversational data to Align AI for analysis. Our SDK makes it really easy to ingest your data. Please take a look at the SDK documentation for more details.

Step 5: Analyze your data

Wait a couple of minutes for the data to ingest into Align AI. Once the data has ingested, you’ll be able to access the Align AI dashboard! This is where the magic happens and you can start looking through the conversations your users are having with your product. If you have specific conversations you’re looking for, you can leverage our universal search either by accessing the search on the navigation tab to your left or the search bar on the “All Sessions” page.

If you’re not sure yet what you should be looking at, open up Columbus Copilot to receive some guidance/suggestions on your analytics journey.

Step 6: Take action with your data

Once you’ve found conversations that interest you, save these conversations by creating a group. A group is a set of similar conversations (ex. conversations where the user is unhappy because the agent is being rude). You can ask Columbus Copilot for tips on how to utilize the conversations to improve your product experience or share the group with your teammates for further analysis!
