Image generation is one of the latest technological advances in the artificial intelligence sector. And with this technology, you can create original and high-quality images in seconds. All that is required is your imagination and a single sentence — text prompt. For AI image generation, it’s essential to create effective prompts that will help the Artificial Intelligence (AI) model learn to generate images that are realistic and accurate.

Natural language text cues, known as “prompts” are injected into the AI model to generate a myriad of images of a user’s desired subject in different contexts using the guidance of a text prompt.

Understanding The Concept of Perfect AI Image Prompts

Basically, a prompt is a set of instructions given to a machine learning algorithm that is used to generate a specific output. One can provide the Artificial Intelligence model with a prompt such as subject, color and so on, and in turn the AI will generate a creative and realistic piece of art based on that prompt. To achieve this, the input language must be clear, concise, complete and specific with no grammatical errors. In the case where there is any ambiguity or error in the prompt, the image generation will be affected.

A good example of a prompt is: “Generate a picture of a happy kid celebrating birthday with friends.” They are descriptions in natural language that act as an input for Artificial Intelligence art generators like DALL.E 2, DreamBooth, Stable Diffusion, Imagen, Midjourney, and more.

Prompts allow users to create photorealistic interpretations of their desired subject and bind it with the text-to-image machine learning models. They can vary from a simple single line of text to vague texts. In some cases, users can even use emojis as prompts and still get the optimal result. For a prompt to be effective, it must contain a noun, adjective, and verb to create an interesting subject. Meanwhile, here are some of the basic requirements for a good prompt:

● Write at least 3 to 7 words to give the AI a clear context
● Use multiple adjectives to infuse different feelings into the image
● Include the name of the artist of your desired subject
● Include a style in the artwork
● Indicate the quality of the art — low, medium, high, 4k, and 8k.
● Avoid the usage of banned words

Ultimately, to generate original and high-quality AI images, the prompt is critical. The reason is because a good prompt will result in a realistic and accurate image, while a bad prompt will generate an inaccurate and low-quality image that attracts no one.
