Coinplug will develop a new blockchain-based non-face-to-face recognition payment platform

We are happy to share the news Coinplug was selected by KISA to develop a blockchain-based non-face-to-face identity and payment platform. This project will be carried out as a consortium formed by Galaxia Money Tree and CUBOX.
For this new platform, Coinplug will provide non-face-to-face certificate issuance and management services through MYKEEPiN, our identification and verification app based on DID. Facial recognition technology will be provided by CUBOX and the infrastructure for payment methods will be provided by Galaxia Money Tree.
With this platform users will be able to make payments via face recognition technology, which is gaining more popularity due to the covid-19 pandemic. In addition, users will benefit from the application of Decentralized Identity (DID), which ensures the security of personal data, including biometric information.
This project is part of the “2021 Blockchain Pilot Project” promoted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Internet Promotion Agency (KISA). An important characteristic of this project is that it will run on Metadium DID technology.
Coinplug plans to establish the highest-quality identity and payment system through real-time facial recognition procedures in Korea. We will be expanding the platform to convenience stores, unmanned stores, and universities through the members of MYKEEPiN Alliance.
