Greetings,

Coinplug Team is happy to share some exciting news: the Ministry of Science and ICT approved our face recognition-based mobile driver’s license on top of MYKEEPiN.

Our mobile blockchain-based service will have the same validity as the existing driver’s license (plastic cards) once the user registers it through MYKEEPiN app. The new service will provide convenience to individuals as it eliminates the need to carry their plastic license, which in turn eliminates the risk of personal information leakage when losing it.

Despite previous attempts from other companies, up until now this kind of service was difficult to release in Korea due to the lack of mobile driver license regulations in effect under the current Road Traffic Act. Fortunately, the Ministry of Science and ICT’s Review Committee granted Coinplug the permissions necessary to implement our service with the same validity as the existing plastic driver’s licenses.

In addition to implementing our blockchain technology, we will work with the National Police Agency to prevent any personal information leakage, forgery and alteration, and disruptions in administrative services.

MYKEEPiN is Coinplug’s DID-based non-face-to-face authentication solution that allows users to manage their personal information and reduce risks associated with data leakage.

Ryan Uhr, Coinplug’s CEO, mentioned that “MYKEEPiN is the result of years of experience in the blockchain industry. We are constantly integrating new services to it in order to bring convenience to people’s everyday live”
