Looking back on the cplace year of 2021
Time passes differently these days, don’t you think? Who can believe that another year has gone by and that we’re already looking back on 2021? So, what happened in the cplace Universe (hint 😉) this year?
By the way — if you have missed one highlight or the other because there was too much going on this year, now is a great time to catch up and to get free access to many event and webinar highlights of the year.
2021 started just like 2020 ended — fully remote. Luckily, we were all just very used to remote meetings, digital events and workshops, and online demos. However, there was not too much time to reminisce about the Christmas holidays or to exchange unloved gifts, as we had a lot planned for this year.
Speaking of digital events: In February, collaboration Factory participated at PM Welt as a sponsor. One of the most important Project and Portfolio Management events in the German-speaking countries went fully digital and we contributed a session on Hybrid Project Management at the last installation in February. You can rewatch it here (German content).
And yet another digital event took place in March: For the first time, collaboration Factory participated at Pharma PPM Toolbox — an international event for Project and Portfolio Management experts in the pharmaceutical industry. cplace supports them in becoming even faster, more agile, and collaborative while empowering their employees to co-create the software solutions they need.
If you want to find out more about cplace in the pharmaceutical industry, we’ll recommend this paper.
Happy Birthday, collaboration Factory! On March 25, collaboration Factory turned 7. Yet again, our mascot cbro celebrated quite a lonely party in our office spaces while everyone else was in their home offices. Hopefully, next year, we will raise our glasses together again!
With yesterday’s solutions, you won’t be able to master tomorrow’s challenges. That’s our credo — but how can big companies embark on that journey towards innovative software successfully? In our very first web session with our media partner projektmagazin, COO Marvin Adami gave hands-on advice and new perspectives on the agile and digital transformation of big companies. In case you want to watch or rewatch this web session, you’ll find the recording here (German content).
What else happened in April? One of our automotive customers went on a journey with us to create a Solution Template for Committee Management. Watch this space — we will be able to tell you more about this project soon.
It’s safe to say that Solution Templates were THE cplace product topic of 2021. With Solution Templates, cplace offers a kick-starter for every cplace solution. Solution Templates present — as the name would suggest — templates for solving concrete business problems in the shortest possible time. Based on No-Code and Low-Code elements, Solution Templates provide just the right combination of speed, flexibility, and adaptability.
Safety first — in May, collaboration Factory passed its TISAX audit with high protection regarding Level 3 requirements. The TISAX certification guarantees a standardized status of information security that collaboration Factory is able to offer to protect both its own data and that of clients.
Traditionally, June and July are some of the busiest months in our cplace year.
We started June on a high note and welcomed Peter Röhner as the new CTO of collaboration Factory. Peter is a well-seasoned expert in the IT industry who has successfully accompanied several companies on their way to great growth.
In June, the Euro 2020 soccer championship was on and collaboration Factory was more than enthusiastic about it. Those of us who were rooting for the German team were not so enthusiastic about their results, but all the more so about the great prizes in the company fantasy football game. The best fantasy football player won a trip to the country of the new European champion. Italy, here we come!
Another cherished tradition at collaboration Factory is our Social Day. On Social Day we lend our hands to give back to our local community. After a pause in 2020 due to the pandemic, we were able to tackle a new social project in 2021: A group of team members painted the 5-floor staircase at Bellevue di Monaco, a local residential and cultural center for refugees and the community.
The impression is deceptive: At this year’s Partner Business Insights event, we did way more than toasting to the success of the cplace partner network:
No-Code, Low-Code, and Pro-Code developers from the Community showed what is possible with cplace in just two short days during this year’s Community Hackathon. At the same time, we updated our business partners on Community news, the upcoming product roadmap and aligned our goals for the exciting time ahead — again fully remote. Cheers to that! As it was an invitation-only event — take a look behind the scenes in our video:
Back in 2020, our Ludwigsburg team moved to their beautiful new office space and had high hopes that they could throw a housewarming party with partners and customers shortly after.
Corona rendered these hopes impossible — but we found a way to invite you into our new Ludwigsburg home — so come along with us:
Work mode: On. In August, we prepared for our biggest online event yet: cplace DIGITAL CONFERENCE 2021! With contributions from our customers (in order of appearance: F. Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd., Continental Reifen Deutschland GmbH, the City of Munich, Mercedes-Benz AG, and BMW Brilliance Automotive (BBA) Ltd) and our event partners (Tiba Gruppe, 4Soft, Le Bihan, GTV, QuinScape GmbH, and Redpoint.Teseon AG) the time ahead of DIGI CON was nothing short of exciting. In case you have missed cplace DIGI CON 2021, there is still time to catch up on all the event presentations for free — our Content Hub is still open until the end of January.
We outgrew yet another office in Munich. In total, 34 new colleagues joined us in 2021 — not only in Munich but in all three locations. We are looking forward to making some more miracles happen with you in the years to come! We added a third office space in Munich’s Maxvorstadt in close proximity to the other two Munich offices. It is now the home of Finance & Administration, HR, Marketing, and Partner Management.
And we keep growing — so if you are considering becoming part of the #bestteam — here’s your ticket: Our current vacancies
Several online events enriched this fall season: First, we hosted a webinar that took our audience on a journey of creating an MVP in the pharmaceutical industry. In case you haven’t seen it — here’s your chance (German content).
Besides that, our second web session in collaboration with projektmagazin went live, this time focusing on the 5 biggest challenges on the way to an Agile Enterprise where Marvin Adami gave insights into transformation projects at blue chip customers. Here is your chance to catch up (German content).
But the biggest event of them all was yet to come.
What was once cplace Day is now cplace DIGITAL CONFERENCE — the event highlight of the year. This year’s digital event broke all records. With more than 700 registered visitors, we connected with more of you than ever before at one time and place. We were absolutely overjoyed to host hundreds of project experts and decision-makers for one afternoon of concentrated PPM power.
But that was not the only highlight in October: At DIGI CON, we launched the cplace Universe — a new, glossy home for all our success stories, Solution Templates, and Premium Apps.
You’ll find plenty of inspiration for your own cplace projects — and the building blocks to make it happen in record time. For the first time, you get a concise overview of all our Solution Templates and Premium Applications — both from collaboration Factory and the Community in one place.
So, have a look around — we’re pretty sure you will like it: https://universe.collaboration-factory.de/en/
In November, we worked hard to make the presentations and talks from cplace DIGI CON available to everyone who missed it or who wanted to rewatch it in their own time. This year, we also created an English Content Hub and subtitled all DIGI CON presentations in English for our non-German-speaking Community.
Did we mention that there is still time to enjoy all the never-seen-before content from DIGI CON 2021 — just register for our Content Hub.
And in case you want to come along behind the scenes of cplace DIGI CON 2021 — here is our Making-of:
Besides all the milestones listed here, there were so many more success stories, mastered challenges, enthusiastic users, dedicated colleagues, awesome contributions, and so much more that we can’t even list here. So, a big thank you goes out to all of you — members of the #bestteam, partners, customers, and customers-to-be for an awesome year!
What’s left to say? Stay healthy, enjoy the Holidays, relax, and recharge! We are already looking forward to exciting new projects and plenty of innovation in the new year, more in-person meetings and we don’t give up the hope for in-person events in 2022 — we’ll keep you posted.
