One of the most discussed topics, when it comes to crypto is a point of widespread adoption among retailers. There are rumors about Amazon being on the verge of accepting Bitcoin with Overstock, Newegg and Microsoft already accepting it in some capacity. So what’s ahead of us in the upcoming 2019?

According to the various researches, the biggest retailers are interested in taking crypto as payment, and currently working to resolve the question of terminals, which would accept such payments. A poll of 100 retailers who use Square (one of the providers) and make at least $100,000 in annual revenue showed that 60% are open to accepting Bitcoin instead of American dollars.

An additional study by CreditCoin proves that 75% of people would spend crypto in point-of-sale transactions if such opportunities existed. After all, the stats suggest that by not accepting crypto, big retailers risk losing potential customers. It’s still an open question, whether 2019 will become a year when the majority of bug retailers start accepting Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, but the industry is warming up to cryptocurrencies for sure.

So if you are holding onto crypto (in hopes of eventually growing your wealth), 2019 might become for you a year when the decision to actually use it as a payment method will be made.
