In Spring 2017, Vanderpump Dogs was — pardon the pun — unleashed on Beverly Grove district of West Hollywood. Notable philanthropist and entertainment personality Lisa Vanderpump, of Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fame, has expanded her passion for pups into this brick and mortar dog rescue center coated in (what else?) a shocking shade hot pink.

Founded in 2016, Lisa’s Vanderpump Dog Foundation became a 501c3 dog rescue organization committed to working on both a domestic and international front to help create a better world for dogs, globally. Their history, in their own words:

“Although we are a Los Angeles-based Foundation, our story begins in Yulin, China. After becoming aware of the Yulin Dog Meat Festival and witnessing the horrific images of slaughter and abuse that the dogs in Yulin face, our founders Lisa Vanderpump & Ken Todd began the long journey towards trying to stop the barbaric torture practices in Yulin and end the dog meat trade in Asia. Together with their partner Dr. John Sessa, they launched the campaign Stop Yulin Forever. The movement gained momentum and has inspired activists all over the world to end the Yulin Dog Meat Festival and encourage more human treatment for dogs worldwide.”

Domestically, dogs in the United States face overpopulation, abuse, neglect and lack of education with regards to spaying and neutering pets, and the Foundation is built on a platform of education, legislation, and activism to eradicate these issues.

On June 25th, 2017 Vanderpump Dogs celebrated World Dog Day by hosting a 2nd annual street fair. In addition to food, fun, and entertainment — it’s not a Vanderpump event without a step and repeat, after all — the rescue center opened its doors to Los Angeles residents eager to adopt a furry friend.

You can check out the rescue center and learn about all the good work they endeavor to do everyday on 3rd Street, 7a — 10pm (7a — 5pm weekends). Welcome to the neighborhood!
