While our work at CPL innovates cutting-edge research and technologies in the space domain, our sister company, Omanos Analytics, focuses on merging space/satellite data and International Development to give back to local communities. In this blog post, we will bring to you the profiles of two amazing women who form the backbone of the socially conscious company using their expertise for the common good! While their stories are a testament to women leadership, it also highlights the diversity of backgrounds that make the space sector thrive.

Meet Celia Davies, co-founder and CEO of Omanos Analytics, our sister company.

Omanos uses local, on-the-ground human intelligence networks to monitor and validate environmental and community impact of operations in hostile and/or low-infrastructure contexts. Community intelligence and eyewitness accounts offer untapped added-value to EO insights, as well as ensuring community ownership of those crucial insights.

A newcomer to space tech, prior to founding Omanos, Celia spent almost 10yrs in the humanitarian and development sectors, focusing on media development and HumanRights in the former USSR.

Along with Celia, we introduce to your Clare Rumsey. Passionate about using tech and space to make a difference to communities around the world, Clare has been with Omanos since the beginning, working to provide earthobservation data in support of communities around the world. After a Ph.D. and postdoc in Astrophysics, she was keen to apply her experience to aid humanitarian and environmental causes and found her niche at Omanos!

Clare’s journey is another testament to how different backgrounds and expertise can pool in their knowledge to make tangible progress not only in the space sector but also in the world.
