My Internship Experience at Crane Cloud: Exploring Cloud Computing Services

Crane Cloud is an open-source multi-cloud software platform for cloud-native application deployment and management. It provides seamless deployment of user applications across diverse libraries. I had the opportunity to contribute to the front-end team and business development team. This experience not only honed my skills in ReactJS, the library used for the platform’s front end, but also broadened my perspective through involvement in business development activities.

ReactJS, often referred to simply as React, serves as a dynamic toolkit for crafting captivating and interactive user interfaces on the web thus creating seamless and responsive platforms.

During the onboarding process, our team guided us through the Crane Cloud GitHub repository and introduced us to the various commands required for development. As part of this, we were assigned the task of cloning the repository. This allowed us to thoroughly review the platform, identifying potential enhancements to elevate the user experience.

I also managed to deploy an application on the platform using my created docker image. This enabled me to learn about docker, a containerization tool that enables you to create, deploy, and manage applications within containers. Exploring Docker’s various commands was not only fascinating but also empowering. Trying out these commands helped me become skilled at using this innovative tool that I had no idea about before.

I engaged in a multitude of tasks on the front end that collectively enriched my learning and skill set. Every task played a pivotal role in shaping my experience and I became better at how I handled the different tasks.

I also learnt about Trello, a task managing tool where each task I was assigned, I had to create a ticket for it on Trello for task management purposes and organization move it to different columns according to the progress of the task

My internship experience at Crane Cloud also enabled me to interact and get to know how to use Figma, a dynamic and collaborative interface design tool. Through figma, I discovered a new dimension of creativity and learned to translate concepts into captivating visual experiences.

Collaborating with the business development team provided me with a comprehensive view of how Crane Cloud operates in the larger business landscape. I gained insights into strategies that contribute to the company’s growth, customer engagement, and effective communication and mobilization of cloud computing through different platforms.

What truly elevated my experience was the collaborative spirit within the team. Their support and guidance transformed challenges into stepping stones, and their insights propelled me to become a more versatile developer.

My internship experience at Crane Cloud provided a comprehensive immersion into the world of cloud computing, front-end development, and business development. The skills and insights gained during my time at Crane Cloud have contributed greatly to my career as I have become better than I was. I am truly grateful for the invaluable learning experience and look forward to applying these lessons.
