As usual it has been far too long since our most recent update. Since then, we’ve been to GDC, had one team member visit Japan to do some user testing over there, and currently have a few team members over in Prague for Unreal Fest Europe (where our Principal Technical Artist, Marcus White, gave a talk on how we use Python for asset workflows).

It’s not all travelling for us though, we’ve also been hard at work on Crayta, both in and out of the game!

  • We’ve created a new tutorial which gives a more streamlined introduction to Crayta than the previous tutorials for those of you who’ve already got any amount of development experience.
  • For the moment the old tutorials have been removed, but don’t worry, some of those will be back (maybe revamped a little) for those of you who want a more in-depth onboarding experience!.

  • New foliage voxels — these are still in development but there are a couple of new jungle voxels that come with in-built vegetation for making lush looking environments, like this jungle that one of our artists is currently working on!

  • We’ve also been working on some new game types as examples of what can be done (our games are always made in Crayta itself), these aren’t on our live server yet but here’s a sneak peek of one of them! ;)
