C.R.E.A.M. DAO Community Governance
It has been almost a month since we launched on August 3rd. The next stage of our governance decentralization will be a launch of the C.R.E.A.M. DAO. Our DAO will begin with signalling the desires of our community, before a move toward full control of the C.R.E.A.M. protocol.
Charter of the C.R.E.A.M. DAO
The C.R.E.A.M. DAO will exist to control, govern, manage, and direct all C.R.E.A.M.-related decisions on behalf of the CREAM token holders. This includes strategic decisions such as platform rule changes and token listings, as well as operational maintenance such as paying developers.
Tools of the Trade
While DAOs are still relatively new, we feel very encouraged by the existing ecosystem of builders and tools that we believe mark the beginnings of what will soon become the future of how DAOs run.
For the main DAO infrastructure, we admire the simplicity of the minimum viable DAO in the Moloch DAO structure as that may be the shortest and quickest path toward bringing up a DAO. At the same time, Aragon has proven useful for PieDAO with key functions such as integrated treasury management and fundraising modules, although the learning curve seems to be steeper there.
The Abridged.io/Collab.land service allows for higher quality communities like Karma DAO. Services such as Boardroom make it no longer necessary for teams to take on the integration overhead associated with implementing commonly-used, open source governance frameworks like Balancer’s off-chain governance, or Compound, Synthetix, and Yearn Finance’s on-chain governance.
Finally, we believe that the task of building out a governance platform that best fits the needs of our community is one for specialized teams who have led this sort of endeavor and know all the tools well. From this front we believe there may be no other team better than Metacartel’s very own Raid Guild to consult on strategy and implementation of C.R.E.A.M. DAO.
As we venture down the path of community governance, we look forward to evolving with the rest of the DeFi community and growing together to define best practices. We welcome any and all help that the community has to offer. Please join us on Discord, follow us on Twitter, or visit us at cream.finance.
