You’ve heard about the blank page problem before, and we’re all completely familiar with it.

To beat it, you need some very straightforward habits.

But don’t worry, you don’t have to do all of the habits at one time.

Let them build upon one another. And compound.

Here are 5 to start with.

1. Start with 10 new ideas every day

Forget vague aspirations like “write more.” They’re as effective as shouting into the wind. Specificity is your friend here.

That’s why I like my blank page to not be about my next article, but with 10 ideas at the get go.

This relieves all of the pressure. You’re not doing the actual writing yet, you’re only thinking about what to write.

It helps you sort through the mess in your head, and then pick the exact one to go after for that day.
