Citizen activists, end-users, and city people working together!

On May 11, 2019, citizens of Sioux Falls from all walks of life gathered at the Downtown Public Library to partake in Future Forum: The Future of Local Housing. The room was set up for dynamic public feedback via prompt questions on the wall spread around the room. The questions were:

  1. What is affordable?
  2. What are some of the root causes of the current system?
  3. Do you have examples of system that work better than our system, if so, what are they?
  4. What challenges/opportunities do you feel aren’t being addressed?
  5. What questions isn’t being asked?

We allowed for 45 minutes of open discussion and another 30–45 of group discussion.

Here was the feedback we received.

Here are photos we snapped of the city’s event.

What do you notice about this data?

This is part of a 4-part series on affordable housing in Sioux Falls, SD.
