Apple’s WWDC 2022 Global Event: What You Need To Know
It’s that time of the year again, when Apple reveals their latest innovations and plans as well as fostering interaction with and for the developers. Yes it’s time for the WWDC experience again with WWDC 2022 coming up. This year, we also get to experience it online from the comfort of our homes, and the best part is it’s free.
Apple’s WWDC 2022 or Worldwide Developers Conference will be a surefire treat for Apple partner developers and enthusiasts alike. The event starts on June 6 and ends on June 10. So what can we expect from WWDC2022? Here are some of the amazing things to look forward to:
- Keynote and State of the Union: Find opportunities, ideas, and get inspired and see what the future holds for the Apple platform. Both these exciting and informative events happen on June 6 2022 at 10 AM and 1 PM PT respectively.
- Sessions: Get the latest updates geared towards helping developers create top-notch and the most innovative apps for the Apple platform in WWDC 2022. Videos begin on June 7, be sure to watch them as there are various ways to do it for your convenience. You could watch them through: web, Apple developer app on your Iphone, Ipad, Mac, or even Apple TV
- Labs: Receive one-on-one guidance from the Apple Engineers, Designers, and experts on a variety of in-depth principles including: implementing new Apple technology, UI design principles, how to improve the aesthetics of your App store page and many more useful subjects.
Lab requests are accepted on June 6th after the keynote at 6 pm. For the rest of the days, requests are catered to from 6:00 AM until 6:00 PM the day before the Lab and status will be updated via email at 10 PM PT the night before the actual event.
- Digital Lounges: A golden opportunity to join Apple Engineers and Designers for a week of informative and interactive activities like: Q&As, session watch parties, community icebreakers to set the right mood, and other activities definitely worth participating in.
Registration opens on May 31, 2022 so be sure to grab this opportunity. Registration can be done on the event website or the Apple Developer App. Relevant links will be posted below.
- Dynamic Challenges: Showcase your creation and skills with Apple challenges geared towards coding and design. Discover cutting edge technology and framework daily during Apple WWDC 2022.
- Apple Design Awards: If there are challenges there are also awards for apps and games based on Apple’s criteria of: Inclusivity, Delight and Fun, Interaction, Social Impact, Visuals and Graphics, and Innovation. This is a great opportunity for partner developers to be recognized.
- Informative Forums: Be a part of the Apple Developer Community on the Apple Developer Forums. If you are interested to learn and share your thoughts, all you need is an Apple ID to sign in and you should be all set.
Just remember that WWDC 2022 activities like sessions, forums participation, viewing relevant documentation and codes are open but Lab and Digital Lounge requests requires any of the following:
- Apple Developer Program Membership
- Apple Developer Enterprise Program Membership
- 2022 Swift Student Challenge winner.
