How would you design the marketing, data gathering, communications, events, and all required to promote a university bachelor’s programme to Finnish high school students?

Starting on in the Fall (preferably early September), I offer a 6 month full-time master’s thesis job for you to do that!

Together with Aalto University communications I want to produce a “play book” for all programmes in Aalto, and we start by doing this service design job for the Information Networks programme. In other words, your job would be to design the “abi marketing” service as a white label playbook for Aalto communications. The concrete case to work with would be Information Networks.

This is a great thesis job if

  • You aspire to become a professional service designer, who understands all the aspects of creating a service: digital channels, customer knowledge, user data, digital technology etc.
  • You think that any contemporary marketing is a blend of technology, design, user centricity, data analytics, and having clear business goals. A growth hacking mindset, if you will.
  • You want to help the Information Networks program to reach 90% awareness in Finnish high schoolers.
  • You want to work in close collaboration with Information Network’s staff (mainly Risto Sarvas, who will supervise the thesis), “abi marketing” team, and Aalto communications (David Lewis).
  • You have done courses and project work on service design or similar.

We can offer you

  • A real and interesting case with lots of help from the marketing people at Aalto and the “abi marketing” at Athene guild. This could be a shining diamond in your project portfolio.
  • Professional guidance and support for doing service design (Risto has a career as a service designer and design leader).
  • Six months of full-time service design work with the Aalto thesis salary and the benefits that come with the job.

How to apply?

Send a one-page letter describing your motivation and experience and anything else you think is relevant by August 26th. Include also your study records, CV, and portfolio (if you have one). Any questions and your applications can be sent to me risto.sarvas@aalto.fi.
