CyArk is a non-profit using the latest in reality-capture technologies to digitally preserve heritage sites around the world, from Mount Rushmore to the ruins of Pompeii, from Ancient Thebes to an ancient monastery in Bagan, Myanmar. Using drones, 3D scanners, photography and local experts, the organization can capture these sites in incredible detail so they are not lost in the future to earthquakes, terrorism, floods or other disasters. Thanks to advances in virtual reality, CyArk is increasingly bringing the experience of being there to students around the world. Watch to learn more about how technology is helping to not only preserve our cultural heritage for future generations, but to make it more accessible to humanity today.
