When a Soul Sister Moves Onto Her Next Life
In memory of Rayvne Hawke
I never imagined when I created this book cover almost two years ago, I would come to understand the depth of the title today. Awake at 3 AM, surfing social media, I found the news that Christine Graves and I’s soul sister, Ravyne Hawke had moved on from her earthly existence.
Publishing her poetry into a book was a dream she and I talked of often. At one point, to encourage her, I created the book cover and started formatting her poems. She became ill again, so she put it on the back burner and sat waiting on my computer.
However, we were distanced for varied circumstances, but I still reached out to virtually touch her soul. Christine and I often invited her to join us, especially when we created the Conversation over Coffee publication.
Recently, I saw her pride and a lifetime goal of publishing her poetry, Bone and Sinew, come into existence with its own cover design on her Facebook page.
Hell, just last week, I sent her a congratulatory email and attached the cover for her to use when she needed it for future endeavors.
