It has been a while since I last wrote a series of analytic profiles inspired by animated cartoon characters. Our series inspired by Gravity Falls was a year and a half ago. We’ve done other series of the less animated kind — Stranger Things, Monty Python, and our Superheroes series — just to name a few. So this summer, we will focus on Archer.

With nine seasons under its belt, Archer gives us a lot to work with. So we will keep this open ended. Once or twice a week, look for a new article featuring one of these crazy characters with comparisons to the world of Data Science & Analytics. They have plenty of lessons to teach and interesting perspectives to provide. Our goal will always be to provoke a little thought and provide some education coated in a lot of entertainment.

The Supporting Cast of ISIS

We will use their time at ISIS, their time as drug dealers, and run all the way through to their Danger Island adventures. So far, at least ten installments are in the works, but if we can make a good point with a few guest appearances or supporting cast — you know we will.

We will begin with the top eight characters. And just to leave no doubt, that starts with:

Dr. Algernop Krieger — I know he didn’t even talk for the first four episodes, but he is clearly one of the top characters. He is also the easiest profile, as his very appearance screams Data Scientist or Statistical Modeler. Available here.

Cyril Figgis — kick ass accountant. Read more here.

Pam Poovey — come at me, bro.

Lana Kane — read here about this the consummate professional… (did we bring back phrasing?)

Malory Archer — bring the gin, start here.

Cheryl Tunt — or Carol, Cristal, Charlene… all here.

Woodhouse — thank you, sir! Read here.

Ray Gillette — Dukes! Double dukes! Triple Dukes! Read it here.

And the Duchess Sterling Archer.

He died doing what he loved — getting shot.

Finally, this series is dedicated to the memory of Brett Bunsen. We will always remember Brett, but he will not be featured in any of our articles. Although it isn’t that hard to spin an analogy for analytics from a guy who keeps getting shot, after that — where does the rest of the article go?

Thanks for reading! And stay tuned.
