And the 2018 Business Intelligence Champion Is…
Let the celebration commence.
I suppose it is the year of repeating champions. Although ours has now won three years in a row. This year’s champion is once again…
Power BI gave it a great run. It pulled more votes in the semi-finals than all the other solutions combined, but Qlik’s loyalists rallied in the end. It was a great battle, at least early on… a bit like that ‘Nova game.
We have made a point in year’s past that one of the great strengths of Qlik is its pit crew.
Its community is strong. And they show up for challenges like this. But they also come with great knowledge and material. This year they rallied with material showcasing their own Excel integration.
For prior challenges, they have showcased how-to pages, new functionality, and even built BI tracking for the competition. It is hard to beat that sort of enthusiasm.
For it’s part, the Power BI faithful did bring some solid game. They had some singing, some cheering, and a lot of DAX-love. There were even some bitcoin references…
And so closes #BIMadness2018. Congratulations Qlik! I am guessing we will see you again next year. I would bet that Power BI will be there as well. They are both strong solution sets. But lets not get ahead of ourselves…
