After three weeks and thousands of reads, we have arrived at the end of our bracket. Thanks to all of you for the hundreds of likes, shares, and recommends. Special thanks to the dozens of people who commented with their endorsement of the various business intelligence tools we presented.

The NCAA tournament ended with a buzzer-beater. Many are saying it was the most exciting championship ever. This was our first year, so by default, it was our most exciting tournament ever! Though it did not come down to a buzzer-beater.

In the final round, we saw Tableau take on QlikView. A battle of two immensely popular and powerful BI tools. Both are great solutions for visualization and clearly that was very important to most of you. Both solutions have strong communities and that became very evident in the end. A social component that I don’t believe I fully appreciated at the start of our competition.

The Winner of the 2016 BI Madness Tournament is -

Congratulations Qlik. We know we will see both products again next year!

Congratulations to the Villanova Wildcats — I will miss my hometown today!

And thanks again to all of you! For your time, your support, and your contributions. Stay tuned. We are working out a new competition for next week that focuses on visualization and America’s Favorite Pastime. The Baseball Visualization Challenge — The First Pitch… coming soon.

Please note — we do not plan to cancel any classes today and please leave the poor police horses alone.

BI Madness is a concept created by Corsair’s Institute. Neither this tournament nor Corsair’s Institute is not associated with the NCAA in any way. Business Intelligence should never be confused with basketball. Anyone who has seen us on the court would surely agree.
