March Madness is upon us. Since everyone is busy doing brackets, we thought we would add another to the mix. Displayed on the brackets above are the top eight Business Intelligence tool contenders (thanks — Forrester 2015).

Over the next week, we will collect feedback from our readers to determine which solutions will proceed to the Final Four. To participate, simply leave a comment below (or on any of our other platforms). In that comment select ONE winner from a single head to head contest. Please include a brief reason why. You may comment as many times as you would like, so long as you have a unique reason.

In one week, we will post the results for our new Final Four — here. By the end of the NCAA Basketball Tournament, we will also have a fan choice for Business Intelligence champion. Enjoy! And please keep the comments professional.

This Week’s Match-Ups

SAS BI vs Microstrategy — a battle of veterans. You can read more about SAS here. More on Microstrategy can be found here. Their sites also feature links to both Forrester Wave and Gartner Magic Quadrant reports.

SAP Business Objects vs Qlikview — BObj vs Qlik a battle Ikea would be proud of. More on Business Objects is available here. You can read more on Qlikview here. Germany vs Sweden in an international battle royale.

Tibco’s Spotfire vs Tableau — a battle for your desktop. Read more about Tableau here. More on Spotfire can be found here. Be sure to comment your pick before and after the free downloads!

Microsoft Power BI vs WebFOCUS — An East Coast / West Coast throwdown as the BI from Washington takes on the BI from NYC. Learn more about Power BI here. Here is more on Information Builder’s offering.

Comment. Share. Inform. Enjoy the competition. And once again, thanks for reading!

BI Madness is a concept created by Corsair’s Institute. Neither this tournament nor Corsair’s Institute is associated with the NCAA in any way. Business Intelligence should never be confused with basketball. Anyone who has seen us on the court would surely agree.
